About

Francisco Bahamonde Birke

Hey there, let me introduce myself.

I’m Assistant Professor at Tilburg University at the department of Methodology and Statistics of the Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences.

My specialty is in behavioral modeling and econometrics, especially discrete choice modeling, with special focus on the introduction of modern behavioral theories into transport and spatial behavior models. However, my research portfolio also includes psychometric classification, structural equations modeling, experimental design, system analysis, and qualitative methods, in topics ranging from preferences on COVID-19 prevention measures, association football, schools choices, and residential choices.

Before joining Tilburg University, I worked at the Deutsches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (at the department Energy, Environment, Transportation), at the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (at the Department for Mobility and Urban Development of the Institute of Transport Research), and at Universiteit Utrecht (at the Department Social Geography and Planning of the Faculty of Geosciences). I received a PhD in economics from the Technische Universität Berlin.
